Krenuli smo od stava da u svakodnevnom životu zvuk često uzimamo zdravo za gotovo i da naš rad treba da pozove publiku da „načulje uši“. Iz tog razloga, odlučili smo da prikažemo zvuk bez zvuka i da time otvorimo prostor za preispitivanje. Rad se sastojao iz nemih pokretnih slika – kolekcije video materijala snimljenih na četiri lokacije unutar šume tokom četiri različita doba dana i noći. U okviru izložbe postavljene u Stanici, sakupljeni materijal je prikazan kao višekanalna video-instalacija. Želeli smo da publiku stavimo u poziciju da se preispitaju da li se suviše oslanjamo samo na jedno od čula, možemo li da slušamo i kad nema zvuka, i da li svi čujemo isto?
[about the project]
We started from the attitude that in everyday life we often take sound for granted and that our work should invite the audience to "prick up their ears". For that reason, we decided to show sound without sound and thus open space for re-examination. The work consisted of silent moving images - a collection of video footage taken at four locations within the forest during four different times of the day and night. As part of the exhibition set up at the Station, the collected material was shown as a multi-channel video installation. We wanted to put the audience in a position to question whether we rely too much on just one of the senses, can we listen even when there is no sound, and do we all hear the same thing?
